I know when people think of Michael Bay films thoughts of unrealistic situations, mega explosions and super cheesy dialogue are what come to mind. Well, when one goes out to see a movie about the Transformers (first a toy and then a cartoon) isn't that exactly what you want to see? Since I went into the theater hoping to see a fun, action packed summer blockbuster I definitely got what I bargained for. I honestly think it took an action movie master like Bay to give the audience what we wanted to see. Sure, the plot was silly, but we are dealing with morphing robots from space here, not some true life tale.

Shia LaBeouf did a great job as the anchor of the film, delivering his cheesy one-liners with ease and managed to capture that geeky hormonal teenager without being annoying. The special effects were AMAZING and were exactly what you were hoping they would be. The ease with which the Transformers morphed back and forth while in all out battle was pretty spectacular.
If you are looking for some real summer fun in the same realm as Independence Day, this is the movie to see this summer. Catch it on the big screen though, as the special effects really are that good. Oh, and when I saw this the audience cheered throughout the film and gave a rousing applause once the credits started to roll. I think that says a lot about the fun that was had watching this one!

This movie is, easily, the best blockbuster I've seen in years. It may, partially, be due to my loving Transformers when I was younger.. but, Michael Bay didn't ruin it for me.
Also, I liked Shia before this movie.. and now.. I
Shia. He's so great.. I have a total
crush on him.
