I'm not a big fan of Cameron's, but this is one of her best romantic comedies...If you love Jude Law, even if you hate him...you'll love him in this movie. I really don't want to ruin the movie for anyone, and every little detail is vital to the enjoyment of the movie. It's about second chances and not losing hope. It's about falling in love in the strangest placesa and moments in your life...aren't they all though? James Franco makes a brief cameo, and boy does he look good too?

*Don't read further if you don't want the movie spoiled for you*

*This is a fair warning*

*Okay, here goes*

Kate Winslet plays Iris, the wedding section writer for an England newspaper, that remains her ex's friend because she is head over heels in love with him. She later finds out he got engaged to the woman he was dating while he was dating her, and didn't tell her. Cameron Diaz plays Amanda, the owner of a movie trailer production company who finds our her composer boyfriend has cheated on her with his assistant. He tells her that she was too involved with her work to even have sex with him...and points out that she can't even cry, and she's a woman. This becomes the reason why the two end up switching houses, just to get away from the men in their lives. So Hollywood native Amanda goes to some rinky-dink town in England to stay in a little cottage, as quiet and reserved Iris goes to warm, and sunny Los Angeles to stay in a much bigger house than her own.

While the two are trying to enjoy their vacation, they end up running into the one thing they were trying to avoid...men. Amanda meets Graham (Jude Law), Iris' older brother that has a tendency to get "smashed" at the local pub. At first, the attraction was merely sexual, but it quickly grows to something deep and meaningful. Graham falls for Amanda while she's in denial and refuses to get into another relationship. That soon changes once Amanda finds out Graham is a widower with two adorable little girls. Then the issue of the two living worlds apart comes up, and Amanda's doubt with herself.

Meanwhile, Iris meets Jack Black's character (I'm spacing out with his name), who is also a composer that is dating an actress. He soon becomes friends with Iris and becomes exactly they kind of light-hearted, goofy person she needs in her life because she later realizes that she wants corny in her life. She helps him through a situation with his girlfriend based on her own experience with the ex she's trying to avoid.

It's a really sweet movie, I would review it completely, but I won't do it justice. There are things in the movie that you'd have to see for yourself, and I would just kill it if I described it any further.

I took my best friend to see it, and she isn't the romantic comedy type...or a fan of any of the characters...but she ended up loving the movie. I give it 5 stars...but I could be biased because I fell in love with Jude Law's killer blue eyes and to-die-for accent.
