Fracture is a 2007 legal/crime suspense film directed by Gregory Hoblit and starring Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling.

If you enjoy witty dialogue, you'll enjoy this film. I dare say that this film was more about dialogue than plot. It even had it's funny moments. There were some holes in the plot that some have complained about, but they weren't glaring to me. Perhaps I was too busy enjoying the performaces.

The acting was excellent, of course. Ryan Gosling is a rising star and Anthony Hopkins is an old master. Add other skilled players like David Strathairn (Good Night and Good Luck) and you've got quite a cast. Hopkins plays a brilliant psychopath (as always) who enjoys games and puzzles so much that he doesn't even seem to care if he goes to jail or goes free, only if they he wins the battle of wits. Ryan Gosling stands up to this venerable man very well.

However, this movie isn't perfect. I probably wouldn't want to watch it over and over. It's very slow moving. In fact, it's pretty much all dialogue. The plot can get a little cloudy at times. It's worth a watch, if only to watch Hopkins and Gosling's verbal sparring, but it's not going to change your life or anything.
